1st grader Science project

Danielle has been asked to do a science project. It's due in the middle of May and parents are encaurage to help them. She wants to do a volcano and I want to do something simple and educational. Any recommendation from my dear readers?

this is fresno's hot...i'm lazy and didn't log in...even though typing this has probably taken longer than signing in.

science proj ideas...M just taught her class about the process of how a butterfly develops...it was cool...she ordered butterfly off the internet...you can buy larva (the egg form or something) and watch the larva turn into butterflys over a span of a couple weeks. pretty interesting. not sure if the development of a butterfly is science project applicable, because it may be too simple.

i did a project on the effect of the sun/sunflower growth in 8th grade. i planted several sunflower seeds in different pots and exposed them to different amounts of light (e.g. one seed didn't get any light, another received 1 hr/day, then 2 hr/day, etc...).

Thanks Fresno's hot for your idea. Apparently, my readership is down to 1. I've decided to skip it this year and participate next year so we can get a head start. I'll keep the sun flower idea in mind.
